4 Yoga Poses to Immediately Reduce Anxiety

When your anxiety is overwhelming these 4 yoga poses can immediately reduce tension, lower your heart rate, and calm your mind.




Child’s Pose


This pose allows you to curl into self and turn attention away from the chaos of the outer world, just this focusing inwards will help slow the mind.




Prone Savasana

Laying out, fully connecting belly and chest to earth, as well as the forehead to hands will provide a sense of stability and connection for the body and mind, which is very calming.




Downward Dog



Bringing the head down below the heart will allow you take to deeper fuller breaths, oxygenating the blood and calming down the nervous system. 





Fetal Position.

This one sounds like a no brainer but, it really works. Curling on the side body is a return to the womb state, and immediately triggers the parasympathetic nervous system or ‘rest and digest’ mode to take over.
